A special selection from among the best wines of the Excellent 2010 Vintage made by the winery oenologist, Jaime de Simón, to celebrate the birth of Nicolás, his first child and future representative of the family’s 6th generation.

It is a wine with a “modern” character, with lots of fruit and concentration, at the same time as having elegance and “style”·

Product Description

Made of 80% Tempranillo, 15% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo grapes, from old, low-yielding vines. One part of the Tempranillo is “Corazón” made using the traditional carbonic maceration method.

Cold maceration prior to fermentation, the latter with the grapes own yeast, and further long maceration after fermentation to extract tannin and colour. Aged for 21 months in casks made of oak from different sources and made by the most prestigious coopers.

COLOUR: Deep, black cherry colour. Garnet tinged rim denoting little evolution.
AROMAS: With the glass still, intense black- and red-berry fruit, such as blackberries and redcurrants. Hints of raisins accompanied by sweet spicy aromas such as nutmeg, cinnamon and curry. When the wine is swirled in the glass, the spicy aromas become more intense, with smoked, balsamic nuances. Light hints of cedar wood and creamy oakiness.
MOUTH: A powerful, seductive attack, smooth and spicy. As it passes through the mouth it reveals backbone and pleasant, polished tannins. Reminders of sweet, syrupy, black fruit. A complex, persistent finish with slight mineral nuances and pleasant acidity. Long and elegant with a lot of life still to come.
