VALSERRANO GRACIANO 2021

The Graciano grape is perhaps the only indigenous variety in the Rioja appellation. Nowadays it is not grown very widely due to its low yield, necessary for achieving good quality. However, its high fixed acidity and the large quantity of polyphenols are characteristics which make it of great interest for making the “coupages” in long ageing wines.

The 2021 Harvest was classified as VERY GOOD by the DOC Rioja. The favourable climate in the autumn allowed us to delay harvesting of this variety until October and consequently to obtain fruit in a very good state of health and ripeness and with all the typical features of the variety.

Product Description

Aged for 14 months in casks used for the second time, it was bottled in June 2024, so it still needs some time in the bottle to reach its full potential.
COLOUR: Deep garnet-red with ruby glints and lively around the rim of the glass.

AROMAS: With the glass held still, aromas of undergrowth and fresh leaves such as bay. Also, reminders of red berries with graphite and the perfume of rose petals, with waxy nuances.
MOUTH: Pleasant initial sensation but with good backbone. It is fresh on the palate but shows good structure and balance, and the reminders of red berries and notes of graphite return. The aftertaste is long and full, with backbone and tasty tannins.
